I'm having this error

Waiting for cache lock: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend. It is held by process 332998

Now, if i do

sudo kill 332998

I will get the same problem but with a different process number.

I already tried some of the answers with the same name "Waiting for cache lock: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend." but nothing works.

Vulkan runs really slow on Kubuntu 20.04
in flag

I have a Kubuntu 20.04 installation on an external drive (and Windows 11 on my internal drive, and another drive which i use for storing data). Vulkan wasn't working, so i added the repo "ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers" and then i installed the packages libvulkan1, mesa-vulkan-drivers and vulkan-utils. That made it work, but now when i run anything that uses Vulkan, it runs really slow compared to OpenGL and  ...

Having issues setting nproc limit?
sl flag

So I'm trying to set the limit for nproc to 192276. This is the first time i've dealt with limits so i quickly found i thought you should change it in /etc/security/limits.conf. So i added the following to my conf file:
@group - nproc 192276

That didn't work so I tried to use soft and hard rather than - and that didn't work either. I tried to set the user rather than a group. That didn't work either. ...

apt --fix-broken install removed a lot of programs. What should I have done?

I needed to install teamviewer. It was complaining about (next example was from an attempt to reinstall git)

You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:

teamviewer:i386 : Depends: libc6:i386 (>= 2.17) but it is not going to be installed

Small network connection problems on Ubuntu Studio 21.10

Whenever I start up my laptop, the network manager will connect to whatever network I'm using, then after a few minutes it'll deactivate and I have to reconnect to the network. Every time I wake it from sleep, it will disconnect and I have to reconnect it. It's not a huge issue, but it is pretty annoying to have to wait for the network to disconnect so I can reconnect it every time. I'm not sure what's  ...

Playback device missing on startup in Ubuntu Studio 21.10
in flag

Weird issue recently popped up, every time I start up my laptop the playback devices are missing from the list of sound devices and presumably don't work (haven't gotten the chance to test it yet). I can get them to show up after I plug something into the headphone jack, but I want a fix, not a workaround. I can't think of anything that's causing this, since it sort of just started happening.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
