Why does ./configure not find Qt5? Needed for building phonesim from source

Background: I'm trying to build and install ofono-phonesim from source, on Ubuntu 20.04 aarch64, so I can get HFP to work with Pulseaudio 13.99. I'm doing this because of the following: This answer says to go here, however the package there is still unavailable to me, I presume because it's amd64.

However when run ./configure on the repo directory I get notified that Qt is not found, even though I've ins ...

I am running an (almost) fresh install of Kubuntu 20.04, all latest updates applied. I completed the process on an HDMI monitor that was plugged into the motherboard (a ROG STRIX B560-F GAMING WIFI). It is running on an onboard GPU on an i5-11600k – the computer doesn't have a graphics card.

Everything worked fine until I plugged in my second monitor via DP. It's supposed to mirror/duplicate the 19 ...

How do I get Automatic Updates to work (problem) (clarification)
cn flag

Sorry my question was too cryptic :-( I'm running Ubuntu 21.10 I'm getting a banner message: "Automatic Updates Paused", with a button,[Find Out More]. This opens dialogue box with a button [Open Network Settings] but the link is dead. I think the auto updates are paused when on a metered connection, which I'm not (though it is a mobile Wi-Fi router). I've checked > Settings, > Wi-Fi > Router [ ...

I have created a non-root user profile (ubuntu 18.04) using

Now, when I want to access/open my applications which were installed as root user (for example vscode) from my non root user profile 'john'. It didn't work. I can't lower the fan speed on my Nvidia X Server Settings

I'm a bit of a Ubuntu newbie, but I feel like I'm getting the hang of things.

I can't however seem to lower the speed of my GPU fan. The computer has no problem at all running at lower temp, and it seems to me that the fan in exessively fast right now.

When I go to the Nvidia settings there is an option to lower the fan speed. But when I lower it and hit 'Apply', it resets to it's default 30.

Any ideas ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
