After a few minutes of audio/video playback computer starts beeping - 21.10, Asus T100TA
om flag

Whenever I play audio from various apps, like Spotify, or any browser (I checked Firefox and Tor), the computer starts beeping after couple of minutes. The beeping stops only when I stop playback. I also checked if it appears when I plug in 3.5 mm jack headphones and it does. Before 21.10 I was using 20.04 LTS and there were no audio issues there. There is a similar question raised in regards to ASUS T1 ...

ext4 FS image gets corrupted on first mount
cn flag

I"m in the process of replacing my M.2 SSD with a new and larger one. I want to save an image of my existing partitions before I take out my old SSD so that I can refer to it when setting up my new install and make sure I don't lose anything. I only have one SSD slot in my machine so I can't use the SSD itself, so that's what the image files are for.

How can I remove DRM from an audible audiobook (aax)?
gb flag

I hope I do not ask anything that is illegal. I have purchased an audiobook and audible offers to download the corresponding file, which is an aax file. As far as I understood one can somehow extract the authentication code, convert the file and use it as mp3. But all I found were solutions which used someone's code (projekt "tables") from github. Fresh install of Kubuntu after changes to btrfs root partition drops into emergency boot

I made a fresh install of Kubuntu with the latest Ubuntu version and installed the system on a btrfs root partition.

After reading up on proposed filesystem layout, I rearranged the system by making several subvolumes besides the @ subvolume made by the installer: I have now @, opt, root, srv, swap, tmp, user_local and var as separate subvolumes. Also a snapshot subvolume which was the reason to  ...

include variable ( string ) in rsync cmd

My question is quite specific and relates to using rsync within a python script, an os command where I would need to include a variable ( string ) containing an ip address. The local ip address is changing on regular basis. I'm updating and checking for change in iphost. Below follows part of the python code:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
