I'm using Ubuntu 22.04 Mate AND MY WIFI WORKS JUST FINE, when I boot my PC. Also, when I have the LAN cable connected, everything works fine. However, when I disconnect PC from LAN, I can't turn on Wi-Fi software-wise. The option to enable Wi-Fi is not available (does not pop up and it is hidden while on LAN). I m not able to launch the application by dropping the associated file on the desktop file/application desktop shorcut. Is there any configuration I need to make. This is my desktop entry file :

How to change the owner in Linux directory

Can someone please assist with this case. I have a folder called media. I need to change the owner for that directory.

drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 6 Jun 21 2021 media

sudo chown prod media then it got changed to prod.

drwxr-xr-x. 2 prod root 6 Jun 21 2021 media

But here i have another root, that one also needs to be change to PROD.

Please explain for this attempt.

DISPLAY and XAUTHORITY environement variables missing in the systemd user environment list

I m not able to run graphical application as systemd service in user mode because the DISPLAY and XAUTHORITY variable are missing in the result of : systemctl --user show-environment.

How can add these variable so that they appear in the list and my user service can make use of it.

22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) network manager loses link to wifi

it all works after a reboot. After some time -- no network access. Ubuntu os shows wifi connected. My modem shows wifi connected. Best I can figure the Ubuntu Network manager loses the link to the wifi port. Any idea how to fix this?

Cant open web broswer in my freshly installed Ubuntu 22.04.2

How can I fix the vulnerability CVE-2021-3449?

I have installed nodejs package (version 18.16.1-deb-1nodesource1) on Ubuntu 22.04. Trivy vulnerability scan identified CVE-2021-3449. It is related to OpenSSL version 1.1.1 to 1.1.1j. But the OpenSSL version installed on Ubuntu is 3. How can we fix this CVE so that it won't come up in Trivy scan?

Selection with mouse from PDF produces weird characters

cannot identify xdg-open behaviour for console application

I have created file association for a console application which accepts inputs from stdin and gives output at the stdout. It works normally when I run the application from the terminal using ./myExe. But when I launch the exe using xdg-open 'myFile', it gives out the stdout on the terminal but it does not accept any input from the stdin (It takes input from the /dev/null).

Well. I'm really tired of this. I'm trying to detect my CPU fan speed but without success. Problem is I have this Nuvoton 6798D chip (mobo: ASUS TUF GAMING B560M-E) and the only workaround which I found is adding this line to GRUB:
