I have a home network behind a microtik router (The most simple configuration). The computer connected to the router works stably and everything is OK. WSL with Ubuntu can't knock anywhere on http, but everything works over https.

There are several servers with vmware on which there are virtual machines with Ubuntu, http also does not work on them, but https works

Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS power off the system but don't shut down the laptop
cn flag

Recently, but I don't know after which operation or update I've encountered the following problem with Ubuntu: when I shut down the system, the laptop doesn't power off, the power light and fan still work. I've searched this forum, but the solutions I found didn't work.

First I tried this solution but nothing changed, then I tried to find out at what point the system would shut down using the comman ...

How to set the default audio input/output in Ubuntu 20.04 using a KVM switch?
in flag

I've tried following a number of posts that show how to set the default output and input in Ubuntu 20.04. So far those seem to work. However, when I switch over to another computer and then back the defaults are not restored. Instead of using the defaults my output gets set to my audio interface(Scarlett 2i2) and my input gets switched to my webcam. Both are connected via the KVN since I use them on bot ...

Keeping Ubuntu Clean - Dependencies/Repositories
pr flag

I've tried doing some googling on this, but it could be that I'm not asking the right question here.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this, but I imagine for most newcomers if you are looking to install/fix something, you probably google the problem and follow the instructions presented (or keep trying until something works) without fulling knowing the result of what you are doing.

I need a user on my Ubuntu Server who has only access to an external volume. The user can't have sudo rights or access to any other location on the server, only the files on the volume. I saw a few questions about that, but none of the solutions did work for me.

My laptop doesn't power off after shutdown

I used to have ubuntu installed alongside Windows 10 in dual-boot, but after Windows stopped working, I re-installed Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS from scratch, erasing Windows.

The problem I have been facing is that my laptop (hp 255 g6) doen't power-off after shutdown and also cannot reboot. I have to keep the power button pressed for 1-2s in order to force power-off. Moreover, when I close the lid and re ...

DVD play: I can't get a disk from "aimee mann live" to play, it is almost new

Tried every trick I new, using VLC, Handbrake, SMPlayer; all nicely updated but no cigar. Stupid thing is I can try it only on one PC since I don't have a drive anywhere else. I will not die without a solution, it is just bugging me big time. I am running 20.04.3 LTS. Other dvd's do not play either. The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
