Why is sudo very slow (more than 30minutes) to display initial password prompt for a domain account?
cl flag

I am hoping someone can help me figure out why 'sudo' takes longer than 30mins (on average) to display the initial password prompt when using a domain account.

This problem occurs even after a reboot, but it works fine when using a local account.

NVIDIA GM206 card and USB DAC Not recognized

My graphics card is listed as llvmpipe (LLVM 12.0.0, 256 bits), instead of the NVIDIA card I have.

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS.

I tried shutting down, unplugging the computer and rebooting, as this can sometimes fix weird stuff. I did also recently update, if anyone else is having this issue.

I changed the Secure Boot status to disabled, and that did not fix the issue. The problem started when I clos ...

Keep gnome-terminal from closing when opened from bash script
mn flag

I wrote a little bash script that opens a new gnome-terminal window. In that window, I need it to run an app which receives some input from the keyboard and produces some output that I want to observe. If the app receives "ex" as the input, it exits. To prevent the terminal from closing immediately when "ex" is the input, I managed to keep it opened with this:

How do I reduce password requests?
eg flag

I've just recently started daily driving Ubuntu and I am taken aback by how many times in a day I need to write my password; there are situations in which I input it every few minutes.

Now I don't want to simplify my password or to outright remove it for safety reasons but are there any options to reduce login requests?

Maybe asking only once every hour or using a phone to log in (I couldn't make face  ...

I deleted /lib/python3.8 and now I can't use gnome-terminal, apt, python3 itself and couple of other programs. I was trying to free up space with bleach-bit and manually. The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
