Ubuntu doesn't show install along side option

Currently my entire Windows 10 is in one partition on C: yes I know past me was dumb.

Originally I had wanted to move Win10 to a new SSD and dual boot form there. (See above)

My main HDD is 4TB that isn't quite half full so figured dual booting form there would be fine but when installing Ubuntu it doesn't show the option to install along side Windows. It shows the HDD and the current partitions whe ...

There are many similar questions to mine on this site. However, over the last few hours of trying to sort through this matter, I have arrived exactly nowhere. At this time, I think that my system might be so poor that the best thing might be to restore an image. Before I take this drastic measure, I want to try my best to explain my situation.

power off dialog pops on every keystroke on newly installed ubuntu 20.04.3

I installed ubuntu 20.04.3 alongside Windows 10. No issue with grub and boot loading. But when trying to log into ubuntu, the "power off" dialog with its three options (restart, lock, shut down) pops on. Yes, on every single keystroke, the "power off" dialog pops up. Even when I dismiss it with mouse and finally log into ubuntu and try to use my keyboard, this keeps happening.

Headphones aren't recognized as a separate audio device, only a clone of the speakers?
cn flag

Problem summary

  • Only one sound output device is shown, which outputs to the speakers and headphones simultaneously.
    • That is, there's only one port in Pavucontrol, and only one line in pactl list | grep 'Active Port.*output.*'.
  • It is therefore impossible to mute the speakers while listening on headphones.
  • The two outputs work correctly in Windows.

I would be incredibly grateful if anyone could ...

How to create an image of system partition without booting from live DVD or USB? (Emergeny mode?)

I'd like to create an image of my 20.04 system partition as a backup in case that anything goes wrong so that I can restore it later.

Additionally I want to make the system partition smaller (maybe after having it backed up...) so I can create a seperate partition for some photos and other data (which shouldn't be auto-mounted, but can be mounted when needed)

So I have, for example, the following output on the Ubuntu terminal:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
