Whenever i try to install virtualbox on my Ubuntu machine (arm), it gives me errors like-

Virtualbox-6.1:amd64 depends on zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4).

UFW Port Forwarding w/ Wireguard

I forgot where and how I came up with these rules, and I'm trying to clean them up. I'm trying to forward ports 24454, 24455, 4000 and 25567 in on MYSERVER to 10.5.0.3. I'm also trying to forward port 2222 in on MYSERVER to port 22 on 10.5.0.3. Below is an example of the copy-pasted tables that work for the first four ports.

Nvidia Geforce 820M GPU problem on mainly ubuntu-based distros
it flag

Ok, I really love linux but I REALLY DETEST the fact that it is awful with GPUs.

Over the last couple of weeks I have tried fedora, kubuntu, kde neon, zorin os, and manjaro and NONE of then could utilize my nvidia graphics card.

I have literally tried everything.

I did a standard nvidia install: 'sudo apt install nvidia-xxx (I think I did 470)'

I think I also tried: 'sudo apt install nvidia-driver-xxx'

No GUI after updating Ubuntu, how do I resolve this?
cn flag

I used Ubuntu for about 2 weeks now and its great and everything, but somehow it stopped working when I turned my computer on this morning. For some reason I only see a black screen with a blinking underscore in the top left corner.

I was prompted to update Ubuntu (something along the lines of Ubuntu Core) yesterday so I'm confident that this update is responsible for that.

How do I resolve this? I  ...

When I export it to pdf, in the resulting pdf file I can't see any picture but only the text.

Any idea why? Oh and I think it stopped working after a general ubuntu 20.04 update that I performed.

As far as I understand the problem it is a router issue, the router seems to forget the mac address and stops to forward the magic-packet. Are there any possibilities to force the router to not forget the route to the computer? (I did look into the router b ...

Install Ubuntu 20.04 desktop with separate LVM partitions on UEFI BIOS hardware

I want to install Ubuntu 20.04 desktop with LVM on a laptop with UEFI BIOS. My problem is that the default installer allocates the whole disk (bar the UEFI boot partition and a swap partition) to ONE root partition. I prefer to have separate partitions for root, /home, /var, /tmp, etc., and no swap partition.

I have seen other attempts to solve this problem, but they either use RAID or resizes the LVM  ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
