I'm still a novice with Ubuntu, Git and GitHub and recently GitHub removed remote authentication using password from terminal, instead it now requires personal access token to authenticate and push.

Is it possible to store personal access token into a plain text file and print the content of file using command ? or assigning a key combination for the same ?

and if not, what other efficient methods y ...

Bluetooth issues in Ubuntu

Before this gets marked as duplicate, I have tried the other "fixes" on this site as well as other fixes suggested on other sites - many of which were solutions for people who described similar issues and benefited from the solution.

What's the issue? Bluetooth works fine until it doesn't.. the Gnome switch has no effect and nothing seems to be able to put Bluetooth back to work other than a rebo ...

VSCode remote ssh terminal not using environment variables

I'm using an Ubuntu machine as a headless dev machine. I am connecting through VSCode Remote-SSH. I open a terminal from within vscode and try to run 'go' but I get told the command cannot be found. I try it within a normal terminal without any issue. I noticed the environment variable list is vastly different between the vscode terminal and the traditional terminal. Problems occur when Win10 remote control Ubuntu 20

I use vnc viewer(RealVNC) to connnect Ubuntu20. Win10 can connect to Ubuntu, but the interface is completely stuck, unable to activate the mouse and keyboard. How to make an overlaid column chart in LibreOffice Calc?

I want to make a bar/column chart that looks like so: enter image description here
(credit to Matlab documentation for the image)

In my case I'm representing a snap-shot of a solution state: I have some variables and each have an associated upper-bound constraint.

Importantly my variables can actually be above their upper-bound (implying the solution state isn't constraint-abiding), hence a stacked column chart isn't a good op ...

Touchegg keyboard shortcuts ignored by Gnome

Ian

I have touchegg setup to use touchpad gestures, and I'm also using the Gnome Workspace Matrix extension to use 2D layout of workspaces. I'm trying to use a gesture to switch between workspaces by having touchegg send keyboard shortcuts (Control, Alt, and an arrow key), but Gnome is ignoring them. Something odd I'm noticing is that when I use the gesture all the keys show up in xev, but when I physically p ...

How do I know if a ppa is trustworthy?

I've been searching for a way to create a bootable USB drive of a windows iso. So I found some posts on some reliable (https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/06/create-bootable-windows-10-usb-ubuntu ?) sources about a ppa that contains Woeusb (https://launchpad.net/~tomtomtom/+archive/ubuntu/woeusb).

Has anyone used this one? Kinda of a noob question here, so I don't know what makes a ppa "safe". Cherrs,

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
