Pixelated video while in Ubuntu 18.04

When I play some video using VLC or default Ubuntu 18.04 video player, the video seems pixelated. Screenshots from Video and VLC.

I create a simple .HTML file that load the video using the video element and the video seems perfect: Browser.

When using ubuntu default player, the video seems to "lag", but is fine because I use VLC as default for playing videos.

low disk space on filesystem.root (updated)
kp flag

I downloaded Ubuntu 20.04 to make a Windows 10 / Ubuntu 20.04 dual-boot environment only four weeks ago, and a week ago I began to receive the warning message each time I open the system. This seems to be an old problem on many versions of Ubuntu going back for almost a decade if not longer. I am trying to follow the various answers from the last decade or so and they are making my head spin.

How do I reverse chmod 777?

While trying to fix mySQL I seem to have made a huge mistake running sudo chmod -R 777 / var/lib/mysql which seemed to have change everything to green folder instead of purple and now even files like sudo won't work.

I am logged onto SSH as a root user. How do I become the "owner" and able to access all the files again?

Is this a bug in 'date' command version 8.28/8.30?

When I want to display the date in format YYYY-MM-DD I use the command:

This worked for ages without a problem. Now in Unbuntu 20.04LTS with the date command version 8.30, it gives an error:

However, if I do:

sudo date +%Y%m%d

then it works fine again. Weird that you have to have root privileges to read the date. But now the strange thing:

Ubuntu will not load with kernel 5.11.0-25-generic
in flag

Ubuntu updated to kernel 5.11.0-25-generic and will no longer load. It goes through the non graphic stuff and eventually goes to a flashing _ . That _ eventually disappears and vertical green lines flash on my screen.

If I tell GRUB to load kernel 5.8.0-63-generic-boot, Ubuntu 20.04.2 loads correctly. I am fairly new with Linux so please be patient with me.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
