"Cryptodisk not found" after new installation of unencrypted Kubuntu
jp flag

I attempted to have a clean install of kubuntu onto an SSD with KDE Neon which was encrypted with LVM. Both the HDD and SSD are now unable to be booted, and the error "Cryptodisk not found" appears when booting is attempted. I am not too familiar with GRUB, so I may be missing a few things. I have no desire to save anything that was on the SSD.

Touchscreen rotation broken in 21.04
br flag

I usually rotate my touch screen like:

xinput set-prop "ILITEK ILITEK-TP" 'Coordinate Transformation Matrix' 0 -1 1 1 0 0 0 0 1

This does not work in 21.04, maybe because of Wayland? However I have a 2-in-1 laptop with 21.04 and the touch coordinates automatically rotate when I rotate the device so there must because some command to do this.

Naturally you would think this would go into Settings bu ...

What to do when audio is not getting properly captured?
mz flag

I have a mixer (Behringer XENYX 1024USB) that I connected to my pc. The device shows up in my audio device list but fails to capture any audio.

Even after a lot of googling and even reading the chip's datasheet (the usb interface chip is a Texas Instruments PCM2902), I failed to fix the issue. Things I tried is changing/patching the driver and trying to get it to work in Jack, without results.

Problem

I currently have my own Ubuntu server set up at home for development. However, when I try to ssh again after a certain period of time (about 20-30 minutes), it times out. Even after trying the ping command, no packets came back. If I do a physical reboot, ssh connection is possible without any problem.

Can't boot after upgrade to 20.04 LTS

I followed the procedure that Dell, Ubuntu team, and this posting suggest: Ubuntu 20.04 black screen after installing, no booting One problem, though. Many of these call for changing a settings file - but I can't boot, and thus can't change the file.

Another online recommendation is to turn off 'PTT'and enable legacy boot. But there are no options under the security tab (or anywhere else) that  ...

How to edit fcitx-table-cangjie5 's pinyin input tool?

Questions:

Does anyone know how to edit fcitx-table-cangjie5's pinyin input option?

Where are its configuration files located?

Also, it might be useful to know where all of fcitx-pinyin 's files are located for comparison?

I'm quite familiar with everything under ~/.config/fcitx and /usr/share/fcitx , so there must be some other locations I'm missing.

I've tried in vain to find these files.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
