I'm using Ubuntu 21.10 via chroot but apt and gnome-session give this error:

Error: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.PermissionsInvalid: The permission of the setuid helper is not correct

This solution is suggested for this problem but my android doesn't have the usr folder either:

sudo chmod u+s /usr/lib/dbus-1.0/dbus-daemon-launch-helper

First of all, I mounted / as rw myself:

I have this Lenovo 7493RY9 Running Debian 11(It came with Windows 7, but I quickly repurposed it it into a linux server).

The problem:

Any time I try to reboot the machine, using sudo reboot or sudo shutdown -r, the device shuts down, but goes into a state where its fans are on and the computer still technically on, so it wont reboot into the os, preventing me from doing any changes that require reboots ...

I am having troubles using JavaScript in a PDF file opened with Firefox.

To sum up, it is a file that uses XFA forms and JavaScript to validate the form and generate a QrCode. Here is the link to the file: IRCC Form

It just tells me:

How to make a Sound Blasterx G6 work as simultaneous spdif I/O device
hu flag

I have a raspberry pi running camilladsp / ubuntu server 21.10. I use a cheap USB card that has to link input and output to take a sound signal, process it and output the result. All works fine, but this card is only 16 bit capable.

I am trying to do the same with the much more capable Sound Blasterx G6 and there is no way to make it work. Either there is no signal reaching camilladsp, or when I  ...

Black screen when using a VGA monitor
at flag

When I use a VGA monitor with my computer, the screen is black. I have tried Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 21.10 and Linux Mint 20.3. All have the same problem. It works perfectly fine with Windows.

If I use "Secure Boot", it works, but the graphics card uses a standard driver which doesn't really fit. (llvmpipe (LLVM 12.0.1, 256 bits))

I have tried using the displayport output, and it works perfectly fine.  ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
