No user shows up in login screen

When I get to the login screen, it appears as normal, except no user is selectable and the ubuntu logo on the bottom of the screen is missing as well. When I restart the machine several times, my user shows up eventually.

While I have found information about other problems with the login screen (Login not working, Login Loop) but nothing like my problem.

play/pause of spotify disappeared from sound menu on menu bar

Up to later last year, I could control play/pause/skip and see now playing from the volume menu on the right side of the menu bar.

It suddenly disappeared after updating spotify to

Can't Boot USB via GRUB or BIOS

I've been having issues booting from a USB to reinstall windows (or any OS for that matter). I've got my BIOS set up correctly according to the Manufacturer (It's the legacy BIOS version with settings correct to ASUS BOOT FROM USB SETTINGS).
