How to edit a keyboard layout for a language in Xubuntu?
us flag

I want to edit the keyboard layout for the language Nepali. That's for fixing a weird inconvenience.

The way the layout works is that every key is assigned a non aspirated Nepali consonant and by pressing the key with Shift, you get the aspirated versions. Except, not with the key 'C' for some reason. The expected output from it would be 'च'(t͡s) and pressing 'C' with Shift should give 'छ'(t͡sÊ ...

I just bought a wireless adapter USB from ASUS. It's called ASUS USB-AC51 (Wireless-AC600). I've installed the drivers from https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/USB-AC51/DR_USB_AC51_V1013.zip .

I extracted the .tar file, went to Linux folder, extracted again and after following "Quick Start DPO.txt" I just blocked at some point. When I ran Makefile with "make", I got an error which is fixed by chan ...

Ubuntu Server 20.04.3 webmin shows 196GB hard drive space but it's 1TB
de flag

I have loaded webmin on my Ubuntu Server 20.04.3. The dashboard of the webmin says 16.67 GB used of 196GB. But my disk size is not 196GB. I have a raid array of 1TB. If I click on hardware and look at the partition on local disks it shows two small partitions followed by a big partition of 952GB. So question is, why am I only being allowed to use 196GB from it?

Windows 10 - Problem using xfce4-terminal emulator and keyboard shortcuts
cn flag

I'm currently using an xfce4-terminal (not desktop) using a virtual machine on my Windows 10. Something annoying is that I am not able to use shortcuts involving the Windows key to fastly move windows as on Windows 10 (for example, Windows+LeftArrow is moving the current window to the left). So I tried to edit the config file at ~/.config/xfce4/terminal/accels.scm to see if I can configure such short ...

I know this is a common problem, hardware is a dell xps 13, read and tried lots of stuff, can not get pulseaudio (sound settings) to recognise earphones for output even though they are paired. In Blueman-manager they are connected but as a "Miscellaneous" device, could that be it, not recognized as an headphone/earphone/output device? Any suggestions on how to debug most welcome. Thx. J

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
