What clutter is left behind after uninstalling language packages?
eg flag

I unistalled a lot of language packages I would never use ( like e.g. russian, thai, arabic, chinese etc. ). When I was searching for a file I came across /usr/share/X11/locale and it still had folders and files about languages I uninstalled. So I wondered, where else are folders and files left behind regarding all these languages. I don't use Linux-based systems very long, so don't know very well w ...

My problem is that Teams keeps asking for the login information of my organization every time it starts. I have double checked that both my web browser and the website have my login information and after entering it everything works fine, it's just that it seems to forget it when I turn off the computer.

What's the difference between Unmaximize and UnmaximizeFull in Openbox?
id flag

The window manager Openbox (which is, for example, used by Lubuntu 20.04) allows us to define custom key bindings with desired actions. One such action is "Unmaximize" (as covered in the documentation). A couple of sources present examples using an action called "UnmaximizeFull" (e.g., here, there, and also on the openbox website itself). However, that action is not documented. So, does anybody know  ...

I wanted to have a portable version of Ubuntu that does not alter my Windows 10 installation and I have created a bootable 233 GByte USB3 stick with Ubuntu 20.04 installed. It boots up into Ubuntu successfully but I have to go into the PC BIOS first to select the USB stick from the list displayed. Otherwise the PC boots straight into Windows. This is only a minor inconvenience but I would prefer it ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
