According to 21.10 release notes:

nftables is now the default backend for the firewall.

However, having installed Ubuntu 21.10, I can see I still have iptables (and ufw) installed by default:

iptables: /usr/sbin/iptables /usr/share/iptables /usr/share/man/man8/iptables.8.gz

How to change default document root to sudo user document root in Ubuntu 21.10
br flag

I am new to Ubuntu. By following some tutorials I was able to set up a NodeJs and express server as root user. And everything worked as expected, I was able to bring my .ejs file in browser.

After that, going through some security tips online I realized that its better to use a sudo user and disable root login.

So I set up a fresh server with sudo user. So now my NodeJs server is located at home/user1 ...

Ubuntu 21.10 freezes after sleeping
in flag

After updating my Ubuntu install to 21.10, my HP laptop freezes after system sleeps, automatically or not. The screen glitches, and I can't input anything with keyboard. I had to hard reset my laptop so I can access again my Ubuntu installation. I never tamper with my system configuration and only use it as end-user, other than modifying keyboard input.

I want to change the colors of my scrollbar and slider systemwide. I already changed the width to my liking, but have no such luck with the colors.

Looked around on this forum and searched for widgets, but can't seem to find the solution. I played around in .config/gtk-3.0/colors.css and config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css, but that only changed things in gtk-3.0 applications (which is normal).

How to disable desktop icon text shadow and create solid background behind the text?
gh flag

Using KDE Plasma 5.18.5

What i am trying to achieve is to disable desktop icon text shadow, which is the thing number one.

I just managed to change icon shadow editing FolderItemDelegate.qml file (removing frameLoader.iconShadow = iconShadowComponent.createObject(frameLoader); line), but have not found any line that indicates it could be text shadow.

Number two is to create rectangle/oval behind the text

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
