sudo apt dist-upgrade trying to install packages that do not exist in parrot os ppa

I have installed parrotOS PPA in my ubuntu 20.04, so I can easily install and update hacking tools.

I created a script to automatically install some common tools that I use, adding PPA with the following function.

function addTools () {

    echo "deb https://deb.parrotlinux.org/parrot/ rolling main contrib non-free" > ${file}

Why the inconsistent booting of Ubuntu Server 20.04 from a USB SSD device on RPi3B+?
de flag

I am trying to boot Ubuntu Server 64-bit 20.04 from a USB SSD thumb drive on a RPi3B+. I have found that on three separate RPi3B+ units, they ALL fail to find the drive if it is placed in either of the two USB slots NOT right next to the ethernet socket.

I have also tried with a crappy flash drive, which succeeds on booting in an even more inconsistent manner.

Are there any suggestions as to why USB ...

I am trying to verify if the installed binaries on my system for openssl, perl, and wget are valid. Per a Lynis audit these binaries are just "Found" instead of "Found known binary." If anyone could verify these hash sums against their system I would greatly apprecaite it. This machine is running Xubuntu 20.04.1.

Or should I be able to compare these hashes to the published hashes at the package m ...

How to recover lost partition from parted - NixOs and Ubuntu

I attempted to install NixOs on a machine that already had an Ubuntu install on it. Following the installation guide here: https://nixos.org/manual/nixos/stable/, I followed steps 2.1.1, 2.2.2, and then the mkswap 2.2.3 direction. After I did so, I realized that it erased the partition for the Ubuntu install, but it seems to still be installed on the computer. How might I recover the Ubuntu install ...

Making folders when the names have "/" and " ' "

Cas

I'm building up file paths (and mkdir-ing them) based on variables:

mkdir "$root_folder/$title ($year)"

I came across a situation where $title was 9/11: Inside the President's War Room. The / is a problem because mkdir will interpret it as a folder path. So I want to replace all / with \/ so that mkdir takes it literally instead of thinking it's a path. The ' in the name is also giving problems. ...

I would like to use a single queue block layer with kernel 5.7.0. Google says I can add "scsi_mod.use_blk_mq=0" to boot parameters for the purpose.

I have been using the method.

I don't know why but suddenly it doesn't work.

Is there any reason? Even if I add the sentence in the boot options, I still get blk-mq...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
