How can I pair a PlayStation 5 controller via bluetooth?
co flag

I would like to use a PlayStation 5 controller (PlayStation DualSense) wirelessly.

If I connect it through a USB cable, it's recognized as a joystick device + audio card. But if I try to use it via bluetooth, it gets disconnected just after it's paired and connected.

I'm guessing it won't work without a proper driver. I read Sony has released an official driver for PlayStation 5 controller which  ...

Why does Discover show a message about universe when it starts?

The following appears briefly when I start the Discover app. I had to take a picture and copy it by hand. I believe it has something to do with dpkg because I have seen similar messages before with dpkg mentioned. What can I do to fix this? At the bottom I left some info about my system.

I'm an amateur. Computer connected to internet by wifi but printing on network printer is delayed by more than ten minutes. Using 20.04. In the interim sits in queue. The active interface mtu (wlp1s0) was 1500; changed to 1492. Still a delay of about 15 minutes (unchanged).

I have a new work machine. It came with Win 10 on a SATA drive. I added a M.2 drive and put Ubuntu on that. I hardly ever use Windows but occasionally need to.

I can boot Windoze from the computer's boot menu. The option is something like "UEFI Windows Bootloader." There is also a "UEFI Ubuntu ...

Authy Desktop client - syncing token labels and icons across devices
cn flag

Is there a good solution for syncing Authy token labels and icons across devices? Multi Device Sync has made Authy a vast improvement for me over gAuthenticator and dedicated security fobs. On iOS, Authy's tokens are labelled clearly by service. On the Linux Desktop client, many labels are generic and display only my username or email address associated with the account.

Nokia 8 connected to USB, nor recognized
pw flag

Hello Ubuntu community,

I am quite new to Linux, so pardon me if this is a stupid question. I am using Ubuntu 20.04, and I have connected my Nokia 8 phone to an USB port to upload pictures. However: there comes no qustion on the phone if it is ok to exchange data, it looks like the computer does not see that the Nokia is connected.

What do I have to do ?

Best regards,

Dirk

The problem I'm facing is that any sound coming from my PC sounds disrupted (I don't know if this is exactly the adjective to use in this case). I've been trying to solve this problem for a while but I haven't found a solution yet.

I don't know too much about drivers so I've just tried to change options in alsamixer or to reload pulseaudio which are the main way people solve this pro ...

How to Install LabVIEW Community Linux in Ubuntu 18.04?
cn flag

Using the instructions in this thread:

How to Install LabVIEW Community Linux?

I attempted to install LabVIEW Community edition two different ways, and got errors with both of them.

My OS is Ubuntu 18.04.

Way 1:

I mounted the "v2020SP1community-linux.iso" file using the "Furious ISO Mount Tool". It mounted this iso file in my home directory, with the directory name: "lv2020SP1community-linux_iso".

do-release-upgrade 18.04 LTS to 20.04 LTS failed, file system mostly read only. Final entry in main.log: ERROR failed to inhibit gnome-session idle

I attempted an upgrade from 18.04 LTS to 20.04 LTS. I ran do-release-grade on a direct terminal connection; I also had a Remmina RDP session running, and an SSH console open, just in case.

The update failed with a mass of text on the terminal window; if that text is available in full in some log file, I've been unable to find it.

The filesystem is read-only at this point, despite what mount says:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
