I'm new to Ubuntu and installed 22.04 last week on my HP 27 inch all in one, model All-in-One cb1xxx. I've read and tried several solutions that have solved this problem for others, but my wifi is still not found. I'm using a wifi extender wired to my pc for now. I upgrade from Ubuntu 18.04 to 22.04 and having clipboard clearing issues using xsel

If I ctrl+c in a text editor and run xsel -cb; xsel -cp; xsel -cs in terminal, the clipboard doesn't clear (ctrl+v continues to paste content). Additionally, xsel -b does not return anything. However ctrl+v does paste the copied content with ctrl+c.

I have just upgraded from 22.10 to 23.04. This means that I now have Inkscape 1.2.2. I am using Inkscape in a script to convert PDFs to PNG and SVG. But, it crashes every time. The following simple use of Inkscape in the terminal triggers the crash: inkscape -o foo.svg foo.pdf.

How to reduce the machine's power consumption?

My machine, Thinkpad X1 extreme Gen 5 running Kubuntu 23.04 seems to have abnormally high power consumption, even in dile. The usual culprit, nvidia card, seems to be drawing 0% power and some unusual processes and wakeups seem to be at the top of the list.

After upgrading to 23.04 the keyboard of my GPD Pocket 3 is not recognized on Ubuntu after logging into Gnome (I use SSDM for logging in). This is the case under Wayland and xorg. However, it is recognized under KDE (at least under xorg.

I do not think this is related, as Kubuntu runs with the same Kernel. This sounds similar but it relates to a rather dated bug that has since been fixed.

Gnome: workspaces don't survive monitor changes

I try to upgrade my Ubuntu from 18.04 to 20.04 with the following workflow:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo apt dist-upgrade -y # intelligently handles changing dependencies with new versions

But If I restart the system for any reason then it working & no need to execute the command but only when cold boot.

Basically, some (parts of) programs will pick up the dark mode I have selected in the settings, while others will not.
