I no longer have permissions to create/resize/mount/unmount any partitions in my system
in flag

I can access and edit in all of my current harddrives. But I can't create a new partition anymore. I can force create a partition in gparted or using 'sudo gnome-disks', but then it keeps giving me an error message when accessing that partition. My other drives it just gives me a udisks-error-quark, 4 if I do anything besides read/write on the harddrive.

Ubuntu 20.04 btw.

my flag

Currently running a windows laptop but needed to perform some CUDA computation on the GPU which can only be done on Linux. I created the boot image on the USB as per the instructions on the Ubuntu website, however when I go ahead and click 'Try Ubuntu', it seems like my internal SSD in the laptop is not being detected. Screenshot of gparted Any pointers on how to get ubuntu to detect it?

Thanks!

Enabling propriety driver doesn't work
ar flag
BCS

When I enable a proprietary driver (NVidia), I'm asked to enter a password for UEFI Secure Boot that it say I will needed to enter again on reboot, but when I reboot it doesn't ask for anything and I end up in a degraded mode. Mucking around with mokutil seems to mostly generate error messages and it seems to be unable to do change any state or set a password.

I'm running a ASUS mobo.

Can't boot because root volume out of space (virtualbox)
cn flag

Virtualbox hangs with a black screen while booting Ubuntu. I was running out of space on the root volume and needed to backup files to a shared drive on the host OS, but got an error that I didn't have access (worked fine before with same linux user acct). So I rebooted to try login again and now it just freezes. Is there anyway to recover some data from the the guest OS?

The one I've been supporting and following for several years was just orphaned. The developer was trying to work strictly on a donation basis, and he's finally thrown in the towel. He just put out an announcement that he's freezing development, archiving his work at: https://github.com/GraseHotspot/grase-www-portal/ and ...

When I go back to the zoom, try to close the zoom chat, the screen(s) starts flickering. The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
