Problem with sleep mode in dual boot (windows 10/ubuntu). Ubuntu shuts down after opening the lid (not going into sleep mode properly)
cn flag

I have a dual boot system (windows/ubuntu). In Windows system after closing the lid, the system goes into sleep mode, in windows it works fine. For Ubuntu case though, after closing the lid and opening it later on, the system's working for like 10 seconds and then it shuts down by itself. It seems that in Ubuntu case the system does not go into sleep mode at all when closing the lid.

how to use existing default.img

I have an unused 222G file /mnt/disc/default.img. It was created a year ago when I was in process of expanding disc space for our container. But I got distracted and never completed the task. Now I want to attach this file to our running container in some way, maybe as a folder or as a disc device or just migrate the container to it because it's 10 times larger than the current /var/snap/lxd/common/lx ...

Unable to install proprietary broadcom wifi driver on installed instance, works fine on live-USB
cn flag

I'm switching from Linux Mint to Ubuntu, having created an installer of 21.10 on a USB stick. When booting into the "Try Ubuntu" mode, my wifi adapter didn't work out of the box. So I went to the Additional Drivers section of the Software & Updates application and enabled the proprietary driver (Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source) for a BCM4352 802.11ac adapter ...

Unable to add free space to root partition

I had a problem with the system not booting on a dual-boot (Windows 10 + Ubuntu) machine, which seems to stem from depleting all available space for the OS. I tried to follow a guide on YouTube on freeing some space from the D drive on windows, and then converting it to 'ext4' format to increase my root partition.

But, after reaching this last step, I am not able to increase the space of the root ...

I succesfully used the NetworkManager OpenConnect VPN to connect to our Secure Pulse.

However, we recently moved to Azure SAML Login, which is browser-based, and runs on a url in the form: gateway.company.com/azure

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
