A Complete Guide For Transition From Single to Multiple Partition Ubuntu 20.04 Server On Already Installed System Using LVM
tr flag

The title is my request. I have been reading for hours and I have found tutorials for moving /home to a partition and /tmp to a partition. But none for converting all recommended directories into partitions for Ubuntu Server. One tutorial got close, but then ignored the obviously necessary step of copying data from prior directories to new partitions.

Anyway, after many hours, I still have not  ...

Being new to playing with Ubuntu 20.04 (VM) server, I am here to seek suggestions instead of messing up with the system :)

I have Nginx server installed that is ready to serve HTML files from /var/www/html, once file permissions are sorted out. The Nginx server is installed to serve HTML files content to a front-end app. Some ports may be allowed "public access" (external access / beyond network firewall ...

Chromium snap can't access /home/user/repos/myrepo files, and I intended to use the dev console, and I find no way around it
in flag

So I've got Xubuntu. I typically use Firefox, but I'm learning front-end with JS.

I can use the dev tools of FF, but I wanted to try the tools on Chrome/ium too. There's not deb available so I installed through snap.

Reading the docs I've seen that there's a --classic mode that would allow the app to access local files, but apparently this is only possible if the app was intended for so, which isn't ...

Middle button & scroll do not work after suspend on a Thinkpad USB keyboard trackpoint

I've recently acquired a thinkpad compact USB keyboard, that comes with a trackpoint.

When I suspend my Ubuntu 21.10 computer, the middle button of the trackpoint ceases to function until I unplug and replug the USB keyboard.

I've found several questions and answers on the site (mostly about what I suppose to be onboard trackpoints) suggesting that I should reload the psmouse module, though this doe ...

Ubuntu 20.04.3 autoinstall Network Issue dhcp

Currently I have a small ssh network problem. I use an Ubuntu 20.4 Server Edition incl. autoinstall. I removed the network configuration from my user-data file because it should be better for the installation to select the adapters itself. Now I have the problem that after the first reboot my packer script cannot connect to ssh.

Only after entering the command dhclient -r and dhclient the packer  ...

I can't run GUI apps under WSL. First, I tried running Synaptic, but it showed this message:

Probably you're running Synaptic on Wayland with root permission.
Please restart your session without Wayland, or run Synaptic without root permission

I then tried to run gedit and got this:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
