Ubuntu Server 21.10 on Raspberry Pi 4 - text displays off to the left on
au flag
zb1

I just installed Ubuntu Server 21.10 on my Raspberry Pi 4. Problem is I can't read everything that's displayed because the first 6 or 7 characters are off to the left off the screen (not viewable).

How do I adjust or resize my view? I'm pretty new to Linux and I'm trying but not seeing everything makes this waaay harder. And I've plugged the Raspberry Pi into 2 different tv's. Both 50" via hdmi.  ...

Trying to change default ubuntu storage to SD card
cn flag

I recently modded a chromebook to run linux ubuntu 20.04 on its standard 16gb ssd. However, when the 16gb maximum is hit, the chromebook becomes stuck in a login loop, so I purchased a 550gb SD card. However, I've had heavy difficulties while trying to set it to the default storage location. I've also considered trying to install the OS on the SD card itself, but from what I'be read it seems that that w ...

Dual-booting on hardware encrypted drive
id flag

I plan to dual-boot with Windows, but I've seen self encryption (through Opal, eDrive ...) allows for penalty free, instantaneous encryption and Samsung offers an easy path through their Windows software. But I fear I would run into issues if I try to install Ubuntu afterwards, as the drive will be permanently encrypted, all of it: even If I turn off Windows BitLocker. Any ideas of how this should pan o ...

How to make firefox command autcomplete SVG file paths when I press tab key
lu flag

I have Mozilla Firefox 95.0.1 running on Ubuntu 20.04. I need to open some SVG files that contain animations in the firefox browser using the command line as follows:

firefox <Tab Key>

The filenames are generally long and I don't want to copy paste them or type them manually, so when I press Tab key multiple time I would like the filenmae to be autocompleted but in my case nothing happens.

Ubuntu 21.10 Broken Boot - Grub 2 Changes Made to Access Bios Infinite Boot no Display (Bricked)
zm flag

So I recently bought a friends old custom PC so I could upgrade it. I switched to Ubuntu 21.10 from Windows 10. It worked well for a few weeks and I was learning about Linux having a good time. However, I could not for the life of me get BIOS to show up with any command whatsoever when booting after doing this install. So I read a few things installed grub but can't say I understood it and in hindsight  ...

Cannot reach the text consoles at tty2, tty3, tty4
us flag

Yesterday I updated my Ubuntu 21.10, but after rebooting I cannot switch to the text consoles tty2, tty3, tty4, although I have been using them for more than 10 years.

The Ctrl + Alt + Fx is now ignored, at the login screen and also under KDE.

ps shows that the consoles are running:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
