Relatively new to Ubuntu. 21.10. Stuff I've tried so far:

I have seen other threads regarding this and have made sure the Samba share names and folder names do not match. Folder actual name: nasdrive | Share: 4tb | Mount point: nas

Mounted via fstab. Using credentials stored in a local file, ~/.smbcreds, which is called in fstab.

Also, I did the updates install trick in my terminal, did a few  ...

My screen keeps switching off for about a second, then switching back on. This is getting increasingly annoying. It can happen several times a minute, or not happen at all for an hour or so. It always happens when I'm doing something, but I can't say specifically what.

My computer is a desktop Lenovo with graphics card built-in to the motherboard. The OS is Lubuntu 20.04.3 LTS. The monitor is an  ...

Alt+tabbing issue with games
cn flag

I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with nvidia driver 495 on a 750Ti card.

Any steam game that I launch has the same issue - I can alt+tab, but cannot control my cursor. I can move it around, but nothing is clickable, seems to just hang/stuck. It's the same from native games, all the way to proton games.

Anyone?

Can't Determine Cause of Shutdown of Ubuntu Server 21.10

I've done my best to look around at other threads, but can't seem to figure this one out.

I've freshly installed Ubuntu Server 21.10 on my home server machine, which is made up of some older hardware (which I intend to begin replacing if it sounds like it might be a hardware issue). Post installation, the only thing I've done is installed docker to run some containers for my home media use (plex, ...

I propably took a wrong way to update Thunderbird. I found in Ubuntu Software the TB icon for the new 91.4.0 version (December 29th 2021) and clicked the Install button.

When restarting email, it still opened the old 78.14.0 (from my Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS). Clicking Applications icon I can find two identical Thunderbird icons. I understand there is somewhere a kind of starting points for two different  ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
