Dell DA310 dock is stuck in USB2
cn flag

I own a Dell inspiron 5415, and a usb-c dock DA310

when I run ubuntu 21.10, kernel 5.13.0-23-generic, the dock is recognized as usb2, despite it is usb3, (I tested this with an external usb3 disk and I only get 40mb/s debit). I plug this dock to the only USB-C port, which is indeed an 3.1gen2 port.

here is >usb-devices command output, that shows Ver = 2.01:

I have recursively changed the ownership of /usr
cn flag

Okay my first time asking here because I can't find a similar question and probably wrecked my OS, so I need urgent help.

Today in the morning I've tried to install the Robust Control Toolbox in MATLAB, but as a common error I've got "unable to write to /usr/bin/MATLAB" or something like that. So I decided VERY, VERY STUPIDLY that I need to change the ownership of that folder.

Onboard Bluetooth no longer working after 21.10 upgrade
do flag

Since updating from 21.04 to 21.10, my onboard bluetooth from my ryzen 7 board (Asus PB50) has stopped working. As it was fine before the update, I am a bit befuddled as to why this is.

Running dmesg | grep -i blue doesn't return any results, so it seems that the hardward isn't even being seen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ubuntu 21.10 Stuck on "Updates and other software" during install
lv flag

I wan't to install Ubuntu alongside with Windows 10. I have Windows 10 pre-installed on my PC. When I ran the installer for the first time, it worked perfectly fine. When I resized the Ubuntu partition to the size so Ubuntu could fit in with reasonable amount of free storage, I got kicked out to the previous page and the "Continue" button was locked. I went back to the "Updates and other software" page, ...

Any solutions?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
