Email client with gmail, (business) office365 without imap?
vn flag

What I thought to be trivial turned out to be far from it, or at least in my experience. I have a gmail-account for my personal email and have been using that for years. For my work we have Office65-accounts, which I could add to gmail with imap/smtp. I did that in the gmail web-app and did that on my phone, worked fine. However, company policy has been updated recently to disable smtp/imap for mail; on ...

Is ClamAV broken? It doesn't seem to scan correctly?
kr flag

I'm currently trying to deploy ClamAV in its LTS 0.103.2 version onto an Ubuntu 18.04 LTS server. ClamAV seems to work fine in the first place but when I did some test scans of different files I've noticed a curious behavior.

ClamAV seems to need nearly the same time for ANY kind of scan?! Even for very huge files?!

What's the difference between dist-upgrade and upgrading /usr/lib/update-notifier/apt-check --package-names?
id flag

What is the difference between upgrading packages using the dist-upgrade and upgrading the packages from /usr/lib/update-notifier/apt-check --package-names ?

The reason I'm asking is, the machine I'm upgrading is running the service unattended-upgrades which I believe runs a apt-process in the background. When I run dist-upgrade (using Ansible) and the unattended-upgrades is also trying to upgrade  ...

Dash app-folders
us flag

recently, I reinstalled 4 of my PC under Focal Ubuntu 20.04.3 properly (from 0, nothing). 2 are completly OK, but 2 have a strange behaviour with the dash when I want to manage apps in folders. The way to do is to drag and drop icons with themselves. The first time to do this, create a folder ; then, you can drag and drop others icons in this folder, and you can even rename the folder. Everything is OK  ...

Intel AX201 Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet Won't Work Ubuntu 20.04 and 21.10
ru flag

I posted a similar question but I'm trying to expand it because I have now tried both versions and still can't seem to get anything to work. I've looked through about 20 different pages and have tried a host of different suggestions but still can't seem to get this to work. I'm very new to linux and not nearly as technically inclined as a lot of you in the community. Any help would be appreciated.

Please note that I don't have any networking capability at all in Linux.

So for example, to install anything I need to use Windows 10 to download the archive etc.

In order for the network to appear, you need to install the modem USB driver!

I downloaded the driver from here: https://github.com/Mange/rtl8192eu-linux-driver

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
