HTTP(S) connection and squid proxy issues

Having set up an Ubuntu 18.04.6 Server recently, with iRedMail, LEMP stack, BIND9 DNS server, ISC DHCP server and Squid 3.5, I've encountered some troubles visible on the client (Windows 10 Home) side.

I am running Ubuntu 20.04 with kernel 5.11.0-40 and I am now experiencing a persistent error with Livepatch when starting my machine (the shield icon shows red). I have had this temporarily before, but it usually clears after a restart or rarely a software update.

How to disable Username-input field (StEntry) Ubuntu 20.04?
id flag

Is it possible to hide or disable the input-field for Username in the logon screen on Ubuntu 20.04 - making it "impossible" to type into the field for a period of time? Reason for this is to make it clear for the student (along with a background image) that the machine is still being configured. (See picture below for reference)

I installed Ubuntu from virtual box, and then ROS and Moveit Noetic because I need to do a robotics project. However, it's been like 2 weeks and I have been searching for a solution because as soon as I open Rviz, my MacBook starts to consume a lot of battery (probably like 2% per minute of battery). My computer is fast, 16GB RAM, 500GB storage, and never had issues with it. It only acts weird when I op ...

Should I put Ubuntu on my SSD or HD?
in flag

I am getting a new desktop with a 500GB SSD and 1TB HD. I am wondering whether I should put the Ubuntu which will be my primary OS on the SSD or HD. On the other, I will be putting Windows as an alternative OS just in case (I found that the Virtual Machine Win emulator is not adequate in many cases). Considerations include:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
