Ubuntu 21.10 and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS display pausing for 2 seconds multiple times per minute
ar flag

On both Ubuntu 21.10 and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, display update pauses for 2 seconds multiple times per minute.

I've been experiencing what appears to be the same issue as this question, first on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and now again on Ubuntu 21.10. The issue occurs very frequently and I find it so frustrating that it makes the computer almost unusable.

Moving files to other drive as previous OS stopped working
tr flag

I need some help with moving all the contents of my C: drive to a folder on another drive in the computer and I am trying to use Ubuntu now as my attempts with Zorin failed. Can I somehow just create a folder on the wanted drive and then move all files from C: drive to that folder either through the GUI or with the console?

Thanks in advance.

Issues on Ubuntu Server 20.04 on VM within Vsphere 7.x

So I've been having multiple issues trying to have a stable VM with the Ubuntu Server 20.04. I have carefully followed install guides but after 24 hours of it being up, it just fails the next day, and everything I installed on it (Pi-Hole w/ Unbound) just doesn't work anymore. It's become quite frustrating but I'm also here to learn as I hope to install more of these VMs for services within my homelab.  ...

Why are Hadoop and Spark not in the official Ubuntu repositories?

UPDATE (2021-11-13 22:12 GMT+8): regarding the Snap packages, @karel suggested that this question is a duplicate of Why don't the Ubuntu repositories have the latest versions of software? I disagree, because (1) Snaps, being self-confined and bundled with all its dependencies, are different from deb packages and I would expect the former to follow upstream more closely, and (2) even if not, I would expec ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
