Ubuntu 21.10 upgrade went without a glitch... except gnome

As usual the 21.10 upgrade caused the loss of all gnome-shell extensions, which in plain English means that ALL the customization of my desktop will have to be done all over again starting from scratch. Now I am stuck with a tweaks tool that does not have anything in the gnome-shell box and no extensions tab in the menu. Hello Ubuntu community,

to fix a similar issue I had. From the answer it appears I should launch the command kpsewhere. Since I don't know what this command does, I tried

Kubuntu 21.04

When I plug in my SD card, I get a message that it's already mounted. Um...great? It still works, everything's fine, the message is wholly unnecessary. Is there a way to suppress the message?

WSGI application error kills screen session and generates hash error in python package

I have searched a lot before but couldn't find a solution for a problem I'm facing with a screen session in a Ubuntu 20.04 VM.

In this VM I have a pypi-server configured to host a python package. I should be able to install this python package in a local env using a pip install command. It was working until I had update the source code, to include versioning.

After I included the versioning in the p ...

How do I enable Wayland on Ubuntu 21.10 (NVIDIA)?
cn flag

I installed Ubuntu 21.10 on my laptop today, but I'm still not seeing the option on the login screen to use Wayland instead of X11. I've really been looking forward to getting GNOME 40 with multi-touch support.

As I understand it, Ubuntu 21.10 is supposed to bring Wayland support to computers with NVIDIA drivers (I'm running version 470.74). Does anybody know how to get this functionality added?

Since 2017, I've had my laptop setup to dual boot windows 7 (from the internal drive) and Ubuntu (the default; from an external drive), in those 4 years it's been fine and there's been no change to the hardware or install. Out of the blue, yesterday, after being idle for a couple hours, I noticed that the screen was frozen. I rebooted and the following is displayed:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
