Update Related Issue, Software & Updates not working
cn flag

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.3. LTS. Software & Update app is not working on my system. I don't care as I prefer terminal for updates. But, I don't know how to remove unused repositores (I added FDM repository earlier and I no longer use FDM, but its repository is still present).

Even it doesn't bother me. My issue is a notification related to update error. I have pasted the message below.

CPU overloaded when wi-fi is enabled

I just received a brand new laptop today (the Neptune 15" v2 from Juno Computers) that comes with Ubuntu 20.04 preinstalled. I've been having a strange issue with the wi-fi since about an hour after I turned it on for the first time.

Sometimes, a few seconds after I enable the wi-fi, while it's still trying to connect to my router, the machine starts running agonizingly slowly --- the display upd ...

using unison to copy files across a LAN

When I copy from one machine to another on my LAN, using scp, it opens a shell (in my case tcsh) and hence runs my rc file .cshrc. For various reasons, I'd like to bypass all of my .rc files when I'm copying. If I'm copying directories, I can use unison, which works very well. Unison claims also to support individual file transfers, but there's no documentation on how to do this. Is it  ...

How can I restore my audio, lost after an update

After a recent update to Ubuntu 20.04 my audio no longer produces any sound. I can't get any sound from any port on any device.

I have tried over a dozen suggestions found in Ask Ubuntu and I suspect at this point, I have only made matters worse. I now have two computers, both with the same problem.

Context menu shortcut shift+f10 doesn not work for all applications in Kubuntu
er flag

I recently changed from Ubuntu 20.04 to Kubuntu 20.04 by running

apt install kubuntu-desktop

On the original Ubuntu, shift+f10 works everywhere (opening the context menu). But now it only works in some applications (chrome, gedit), but not others (e.g., dolphin).

Is there any way to configure this?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
