how to specify "take rest of space" to an lvm partition in autoinstall
za flag

When creating an autoinstall config file, I want an LVM partition to take the rest of the remaining free space (free space may be different on different installs so I can't hard code it and I'd rather not calculate as it's next to impossible to get it right and use all the space). I started with this in my autoinstall.yaml file:

    - id: lvm_partition_9
      name: lv9

This problem occurs in both ubuntu 18.04 and windows 10 LTSC.

I don't think that it is a problem but let me say, since I don't have sleep button I added a shortcut to f9 that puts pc into sleep mode. I deleted that shor ...

I am getting the following error when running 'apt update' on my Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS machine.:

The repository 'http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal-security Release' no longer has a Release file.

I looked up what it means by 'focal' and that translates into Ubuntu 20.04 (which is the most current LTS release at the time of posting).

How can the most recent LTS release, which I believe should be support ...

I need help installing Ubuntu via USB. I changed the bios and it still loaded up with my regular desktop (I'm not a techy so may use different wording). I disabled the legacy & secure boot and that didn't work. When I normally boot up my laptop I have a pin screen and wonder if this is why the USB doesn't boot, even though I changed the boot order multiple times. So far nothing has worked for me. I' ...

KDE Window Application Menu opens at wrong position

I have an issue I can't figure out. I'm using Kubuntu 20.04, Kde plasma 5.18.7. I added the application menu button to the window and when the menu open, it shows up at a random position. The menu button is at the top right corner of the window. This is frustrating because if I have a window maximized and I open the app menu, the menu has half off screen. If I'm using multiple monitor the menu might eve ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
