How to uninstall Bluecherry security cam software
cn flag

I was testing a video cam for a client and installed Bluecherry Beta on my Linux Ubuntu 20.04.2 machine. Never worked well enough to use so I've ignored it for a month and it didn't seem to bother anything.

But yesterday, installed 21.04 LTS and it complained, giving the White Screen of Death, and gave notice that it couldn't deal with Bluecherry. So after 21.04 was up and running, I tried to uni ...

Wifi showing connection but not working Ubuntu 20.04 LTS dual Win 10

I used to have 2 HDD drives one with win 10 and one with Ubuntu 18, but I thought I would spice things up a bit with a SSD to boot from and keep files on the other drives.

I started having Wi-Fi issues with Ubuntu (win 10s wifi was just fine) where the wifi would randomly cut out, and then the wifi is not working at all even though it says it is connected.

Someone had a similar problem online and fi ...

My virtual machine (Virtual Box) stop working, it does not accept a mouse nor my keyboard

This issue is in Oracle VirtualBox Manager with Ubuntu at the latest update. Two days ago, I turned on my virtual machine (connected to a public network), and it enters immediately to the desktop, skipping the user login, but I ignored it. After that, the VM did not capture my mouse.

I'm in the newest version of the VB, so I restart the Virtual Box, but it did not help. I already disabled and enable ...

How to edit fcitx tables & fix broken inputs

I've found some characters missing from fcitx-table-cangjie5 and would like to add them.

I've tried nano /usr/share/fcitx/table/cangjie5.mb but it always freezes.

Questions:

  1. Are there any commands like (making this up to demonstrate the functionality I want):

cat -ni cangjie5.mb (to list all entries for ni) and

insert -ni -3 cangjie5.mb (to insert in the 3rd position under ni)?

My Dell XPS 9350 is automatically waking from sleep
bt flag

Recently, my laptop has begun waking up immediately after going to sleep, while unplugged with the lid open or closed. This is causing my battery to drain quickly and the laptop to get very hot if I put it in my bag. It seems like after each restart it will sleep normally for one cycle, after I wake it I can't get it back to sleep.

Here is an example from the log of what it's doing:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
