Connection activation failed of Ubuntu 22.04 Hotspot

After reinstalling the Network Manager with all its missing dependencies (see for details How to reinstall the network manager with all its dependencies offline in Ubuntu 22.04) I tried to connect my phone (Android 10 version) to the Ubuntu Hotspot as I usually did without problems before reinstalling the Network Manager. 22.04 upgrade stuck on extracting jammy.tar.gz

upgrading from 20.04 to 22.04. Ran these commands:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo update-manager -d

This is what is showing on screen:

Checking for a new Ubuntu release

None

It has been stuck on the 'extracting' operation for 3 hours. And the word 'None' doesn't look good to me...

A few months ago, I attempted to upgrade from Ubuntu 18.04 to 22.04 and it failed. The system did not reboot after this, something to do with partitions that went wrong. Using various guides, I was able to get the server back online and it was restored back to Ubuntu 18 in the process.

Can I view the progress of a LUKS encryption that was initiated in the GUI? Alternately can I calculate it?

Upload file in browser from network share not working

I ran into an issue when triyng to upload a file from a network share (smb),
the brwoser does nothing, copiyng the file to a local folder and selecting it then works.
I'm usning Ubuntu 22.04.2
the issue is in all browsers I tested (Chrome, FireFox, Gnome web)
I suspect this has somthing to do with the way ubuntu (gnome files?) mounts network drives,
the visual path is somthing like
smb://server.local/fo ...

22.04 Can't Install - Black Screen

Bootable 22.04 USB Created using Rufus.

Menu option appears

Tried Normal and Safe GFX Option

Logo shows for a short while then screen goes blank.

Same issue on laptop and PC.

PC NVidia 2080Ti, Laptop Nvidia 2060/Intel dual Gfx

Same USB stick and same Rufus tool settings used to create EndeavourOS bootable USB which installs fine, so this rules out faulty USB stick+ USB Port

Low screen brightness after instaling NVIDIA drivers

Firstly, sorry for my English.

I use HP Victus 15 Gaming with 3050 Ti.

I installed Ubuntu 22.04. Then, I installed NVIDIA drivers. But screen brightness decreased substantially. I set max brightness but still low. Before installing the drivers, there was no problem. I have Dual-Boot (Windows 11 and Ubuntu). Windows hasn't got the problem.
