I'm using ubuntu20.04 in VMware workstation. I allocate 8 cpu cores, 6G RAM, 4G swap and enough free disk space(at least 25G) to ubuntu20.04. Stuck in emergency mode and I can't figure out what's wrong

My computer is stuck in emergency mode, I think there's something wrong with /dev/sda8 but I don't know how to fix it. When I type in fsck -y /dev/sda8 I get:

'/dev/sda8 is mounted e2fsck: Cannot continue aborting'

I typed fsck -nf /dev/sda8 and got 'Free blocks count wrong' and 'Free inodes count wrong' but I don't know what to do about that or if that's even the problem?

I'm trying to install Ubuntu 22.04.1 on a hard drive. I started of by going into Try Ubuntu and after that tried to install it. I got through the set-up process, but then it crashed. When I tried to redo it, I got this error:

simple cron bash script which uses xmessage to alert the user to a specific condition. It works fine and does exactly as expected when I run it, but when I fire it off via cron, I get in syslog:

PipeWire hangs on logout Gnome

As the title suggest, PipeWire Multimedia Service is significantly slowing down the logout process on Gnome 43, Ubuntu 22.10. It seems to start shutting down roughly 10 seconds after all the other processes have already ended. I've included the last log entries of a session shutdown below.
