The print job hangs, though it appears that the client CUPS daemon and the host CUPS daemon appear to be talking to each other. I can print the same pdf via the document viewer from the client without any problems. I can also print that document from ac ...

Is there a way to toggle the Do Not Disturb Button extension based off a Gnome Calendar description?
ng flag

The Do Not Disturb Button extension is set to toggle on a keyboard shortcut (super+q). Is there any way to toggle it based on if I have "mute" in the event description in Gnome Calendar?

I have my phone synced to the same CalDav calendar and I can mute my phone using Tasker and its "calendar entry" state, which looks for mute in the event description. Was curious if there's any way to do the same thing in ...

DHCP and Static IP on different subnet on one interface - Netplan - What are the limitations

Maybe I have some fundamental misunderstanding about subnets, but someone at my company is telling me what I want to achieve is not possible or at least not reliable.

Currently, we have multiple computers with a static IP on the ethernet port used for connecting to directly without being part of a wider LAN on a 10.x.x.x address.

I would like to also be able to use this port for things such as offlo ...

Terminal error information right before sleep
za flag

I run Xubuntu 20.04 and I'd like to know how to gather that terminal data that appears before the splash when turning on the computer, and especially the terminal data that shows up for like 125 milliseconds before the computer enters sleep mode. It always shows up some kind of warning but I can't read anything in time and I really don't want to ignore possible problems with my setup. Thanks in advance! ...

Lag when connected to Ubuntu server
pk flag

So I don't know much about Linux and servers in general. But I did manage to set up a server and use Ubuntu as it's OS.

Though when I connect to the server through RDP (my main PC runs Windows 10 btw), the server seems to run very slowly and lags behind inputs. It's not terrible, but can certainly get annoying after some time. This is even worse and pretty close to not usable if connected while on a

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
