How to Restore a Flash Drive I Used to Install My System
cn flag

I recently got Ubuntu 21.10, and to install it, I used a Lexar 16GB flash drive. However, now that I've used it for what I needed it for, I want to restore the flash drive to its original 16GB capacity so I can use it for other things. Is there a way to achieve this?

Black screen after login and no network access after restart from power button (Ubuntu 21.10)
in flag

My brother had a browser window and Minecraft open when suddenly his Ubuntu 21.10 system froze completely. He did the only thing he was able to: press & hold the power button for a restart. He booted his PC again, but was greeted with a fairly common issue: black screen after login. No mouse cursor, sound or any indication of activity whatsoever.

My first guess was file/package corruption, so ...

So I recently upgraded from Windows 10 to Ubuntu and decided to give Linux a try. For some odd reason when I installed it the resolution was stuck on 1024x768. I did so much research and most of them were the 'xrandr' trick which does not work for me at all. Also it shows that I'm XWAYLAND0 which I saw people say it doesn't work on xrandr. Can anyone please help?

I was attempting to install VirtualBox in Ubuntu. It gave me an error something along the lines of "your kernel is probably out of date". That’s fine, so I go to install 5.15.7 and somehow something went very wrong because now whenever I try to boot into Ubuntu it gives this output. How can I fix this?

Ubuntu 20.10 restarting unexpectedly after automatic sleep

I have noticed unexpected restarts when laptop goes to sleep or I am away from it. It doesn't always happen while in sleep. It happens only when I leave the laptop without manually suspending it. If I manually suspend it, it never restarts, but sometimes it doesn't wake again so I have to force shutdown using the power button.

I tried memtest, and searched here and on google but with no use.

Ubuntu 20.04 gets stuck when normal using it

RealTek 8111 IC not recognized

Im having problems to get Ubuntu to recognize my Realtek 8111 IC.

If i do a lspci.- its not showing. (as far as i can see):

Terminal View

I installed the r8168-dkms driver - which should support the Realtek 8111 network IC.

If its not recognized in hardware, it's not going to do anything.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
