Can't boot after upgrading to Kubuntu 23.04

I had a perfectly working Kubuntu installation. When I upgraded to 23.04, the upgrade was done without any error, but after a restart I wasn't able to load Kubuntu 23.04. My boot is stuck here:

I can use tty with ALT+CTRL+F2. After I login, I updated everything but it doesn't help. It looks like I've some kind of bluetooth error? Do you have any suggestions?

Error when I want to enter Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

I installed Ubuntu 22.04 LTS on my Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 two months ago and last Friday I tried to enter Ubuntu but got an unexpected error Last time I used it there was no problem.

I've just installed Ubuntu 23.04 in VirtualBox. Now the program says:

I've seen this post, this post and many others addressing exactly the same question, however, none of them have helped.

How am I supposed to remove the installation medium? What exactly does this mean? Also, where do I press 'Enter'? Presumably ...

Ubuntu 23.04 get's stuck in a grey screen with mouse curser after login

My Ubuntu 23.04 install boots normal, but after I log into my user account it gets stuck at an grey screen and does not react to any input anymore. If I boot into recovery mode and select fsck and then boot normal it boots without any problems but when I restart it get's stuck again at the grey screen after login. I have been having hard drive issues on Ubuntu 18.04 where the system randomly remounts my root partition (/dev/sda4) as read-only due to errors.

Volume control problems on laptop

Installed Ubuntu on Huawei matebook s14, everything seems fine except volume control. When pressing volume up/down buttons in alsamixer 'Speaker' mixer goes up/down, but it doesn't do anything. 'Headphones' mixer is the one controlling volume, how to make buttons control the right mixer?

I am writing a script that automatically copies sqlite files from my computer to a USB stick whenever the stick is inserted. It makes a new directory on the USB that takes the hostname of the computer, as I will be downloading from multiple computers.

Ubuntu LDAP - does not work without connection to LDAP server?

I've configured LDAP on couple U20 virtual servers. Everything works when those servers have connection to LDAP Server but as soon as I disconnect them I cannot login anymore. Not even with root or with LDAP users.

Is there a possibility to allow some specific local users or have an offline copy? I've read about sssd but somehow did not work.

Any other alternatives?

I have a Dell Latitude E6420 laptop that has a vga and hdmi port, and I was able to run 2 additional monitors in a addition to the laptop built in display using 20.04.

After upgrading to 22.04, only the VGA monitor shows up in the display configuration.

Unable to connect bluetooth devices after upgrade to 23.04

As I always do, I upgraded my xubuntu version to 23.04. The thing is that now I'm unable to connect my devices to the bluetooth. There's an error message that reads "Connection Failed: br-connection-profile-unavailable".

The devices get paired but do not connect to bluetooth...

Ubuntu kernel panics / freeze after Nvidia driver installation

I've been running Ubuntu 22.10 for a few months, the machine has a RTX 2080 TI GPU.

I was using the nouveau driver that was set by default, everything worked fine, but I needed some nvidia functionality, such as nvidia-smi and cuda toolkit.

Installing the official nvidia driver makes the OS freeze, after a minute or so when using the Desktop GUI. If I'm on tty2 terminal, the system will not freeze ...
