I ran Apt update and upgrade and I get a prompt that one of the configuration files are different. I typed 'D' and reviewed the file and decided I want to keep my version. However I can't find how to exit the review page. I can scroll up and down but have no idea how to actually exit the preview, I reviewed the Manual page in a separate terminal window but it didn't mention anything.

I need to use libvirt 8.10+ and as it is right now - I'm compiling it from sources, but my solution is far from being perfect (I had to disable apparmor for instance), I would love to install it from repository instead. Does anyone know, if Ubuntu 23.04 may receive it (right now it has libvirt 8.6 - same as Ubuntu 22.10) or new version of package will be added in next release - 23.10?

Why won't Ubuntu install on my Shuttle?

How to exclude IPs from VPN routing?

I want to prevent certain IP connections to go through my default VPN. Is that possible at all to set a specific IP or range that should go the normal way, instead of going through a connected VPN?

ifconfig shows a wlp147s0 and a vpn0. I'm not having 2 ethernet cards. How can I now prevent some ips from going through vpn0?

Ubuntu installs on USB external enclosure but doesn't install while it is installed / mounted inside laptop

How to launch application by keyboard shortcut in Kubuntu?

I'd like to open kate editor when pressing ALT+K. Or google.de when pressing ALT+G.

How can I achieve this in kubuntu 22.10? I tried Custom Shortcuts > and added some by learning the keys, and commands like kate or firefox www.google.de.

But nothing happens, they are not taken into account.

netplan is not concatenating addresses on separate YAML files

I am trying to set up an additional address in an ethernet interface using netplan. The man page for netplan-generate mentions that the sequences for the same key configuration should be concatenated , but the value gets always overriden.

Where smb client password saved?

So I forgot my other PC's windows password (I haven't used it for months), and I believe I've saved it on either nemo (or maybe nautilus or thunar) when both PC connected thru smb://10.x.x.x.

Where does ubuntu/nemo save password of my windows PC that previously saved?

Use fingerprint reader in more places than the login screen

It seems like the fingerprint reader is used only in the login screen on Ubuntu 22.10. Is there a way to enable the reader for other applications where a user password is requested (in the terminal, the lock screen, in GTK apps, or for sudo in any context)?

Some other distros can do this, so I know it's possible.
