Please bear in mind I am very new to uBuntu. My boot partition was only 200-300MB and full. So after an hour I managed to replace it with a new partition at 1GB, following this guide I found in an answer on this forum:


Expand the SCSI device by 1GB on VM sphere centre or AWS, etc, so /dev/sda gets an additional 1GB of space.

Ubuntu 20.04 not booting after upgrading from 18.04 on my dell vostro 460 pc. I updated it sucessfully and it booted, but the keyboard was unresponsive during the dual boot. So I tried to update the grub from the terminal. After that I restarted and it is not booting instead showing a black screen with a - (hyphen) blinking. I tried to repair the boot using a live usb and used this code in the terminal

Ubuntu keeps filling up despite no installs

I just cleared more than 600 MB of systemd journal files. I started VirtualBox, tried to create a new machine, and found out I couldn't. I type in df / on the command line. There's no space left!!! What could have taken up 600 MB in few a minutes?!

This has been going on for a while now. I clear out space on my drive and then the space fills up so damn quickly. What is causing this?

Which package or packages are needed to charge a laptop battery?

Unable to boot ubuntu, or anything, from USB

External Monitors Sometimes Switch Names When Docking Station Plugged In

I'm running Xubuntu 22.04 off a laptop that is sometimes plugged into a Dell docking station with two external monitors. I use xrandr commands to set up the monitors in my preferred configuration when plugged in. The problem is that sometimes the monitor names get switched. Most of the time, the monitors are labeled as follows:

Ubuntu 22.04 - USB-C converter pluggin = no sound

I have a Dell XPS that comes with only USB-C ports. So I need a USB-C converter to USB and HDMI. When plugged in and with a monitor with HDMI input connected to it, everything works but the sound is gone. If I unplug the converter, or the HDMI cable, the sound is back.

Has anybody come across this problem?

I use Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS on a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16IAU7. It functions normal, until today. Now after i boot it it will not show the login-screen but a black screen (the encryption before will show normal and i enter my passphrase, but then nothing after that will show).
