Failed to login from TTY1 (from recovery mode) cannot execute /bin/bash/: no such file or directory

I was trying to install wine to run a Windows program on Ubuntu 20.04. There was a problem installing wine because of dependency packages. I followed some instructions to manually install the dependency packages but while installing the first package (which I don’t remember now) I realized that something big/fatal is about to happen in my Ubuntu and I tried to halt the installation. Creating mdadm RAID1 boot/OS and RAID6 storage arrays with shared hot spares in Ubuntu 20.04
cn flag

I'd like to install ubuntu server 20.04 with a few SSDs in a RAID1 for the boot/OS drive, and a handful more SSDs in RAID6 for storage, then finally have 2 hot spare SSDs which would be able to be auto-added into either RAID array in case of failure of any drive. I'm planning to have this machine put at a colocation data center, so hoping to be as redundant and hands off as possible.

Reinstall Windows 10 in virtualbox cannot activate
vn flag

right now I have a windows10-linux dual-boot system on my laptop. I rarely use windows but sometimes it is necessary. I installed windows10 in virtualbox but cannot activate it with the same product key, -makes sense.

My question is, if I deinstall the system on the real-machine, can I activate windows10 then on virtualbox? I used to reinstalled windows10 on the same machine, there was no problem ...

How to install a libc6 version newer than 2.31 on Ubuntu 20.04 focal fossa?
my flag

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 focal fossa.

I'm trying to install a package that depends on libc6=<2.33 or above. However, focal repositories only have version 2.31, which is causing dependency troubles:

Depends: libc6 (>= 2.34) but 2.31-0ubuntu9.2 is to be installed

Is there any way I can install libc6 2.34 or above on Ubuntu 20.04 focal?

chrome update (20.04.3 LTS)
mx flag

The Ubuntu Software package manager doesn't seem to help me do this... Chrome claims I have: Version 87.0.4280.88 (Official Build) (64-bit) and requires a "Relaunch" - but this fails. Actually it appears to succeed, but 15 minutes later it tells you it has not, and asks you to do it again.

Software Updater Popup – How Keep on Top?
cn flag

How does one keep the Software Updater Progress Pop-Up on top in Ubuntu (18.04 and 20.04 GNOME)? The first one telling me I have updates to run is fine – magically appears on the Desktop. The question is with the pop-up which appears when the updates are being downloaded and installed: it minimizes to the “A” in the Favourites bar and sometimes has been forgotten about with the older/slower mac ...

printing problems

My 3 digit HP printer finally gave up on me so I bought a new one and then the fun started. When I bought the old one I plugged it in and it just worked. Til now. I'll skip over the several new ones I've tried. That's for another day. The last one I got is a Brother HL-L2350DW which won't "install" in my 20.04. I follow the how to instructions (as all the others) and can't find the next step. Frustratin ...

Fresh installation of Ubuntu (ver. 20.04), worked fine for first few hours, then it froze. After a hard power off with a long press of the button it booted up in stretched 640 by 480 resolution (which I cannot change within settings) and without internet access.

Cloned Ubuntu 1804 disk to m.2 drive and am now being prompted for password at login
in flag

I have been using Ubuntu to run arcade machines for years. I have a drive I have been cloning for a long time. I recently cloned that drive to a new m.2 drive and now when I start up the drive i am prompted for a login password. I've never been prompted for a password before. Auto login is on, but I am still being prompted for a password. Can I disable this somehow?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
