How do I automatically echo the pwd to the bash shell after a cd command? My ancient Solaris system does it yet I cant find out how to do it in Ubuntu. Effectively I want it to look like below so I don't have to type pwd all the time!

How do I disable my laptop battery?

I got a look at my laptop battery when it was opened for service and it was dangerously swollen. I didn't know the reason for the crack near my touch pad until I saw the battery. I don't want to disconnect the battery; I just want to disable it so I can re-enable it without having to screw open my laptop when I am doing something that doesn't have auto-save.

i concur with this same question asked here by others. on ubuntu 22.04.2. this was all preceded by 'apt-get update':

I accidentally deleted xhci_hcd driver after trying to install realtek usb network driver.

I work with Ubuntu 18.04, and using softwares like: petalinux, Vivado. Each time i want to open vivado for example, I open terminal and type:

source /opt/XIlinx/Vivado/2020.2/settings64.sh

This is applied only to that specific terminal.

I understand that if I edit .profile file, I can make it redundant. So i add this line:

export PATH="$PATH:/opt/XIlinx/Vivado/2020.2/settings64.sh"

I have created a bootable USB drive, formatted to GPT and applied the Ubuntu ARM image (latest LTS version).

Network Connection Error with Ubuntu 22.04 after rebooting

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04 version. After rebooting computer, network connection failed. I've tried all possibilities as I know, check network cable(changed with other cable which properly works), check LAN card, etc.

Although checking the network settings, wired connection is connected with 100Mb/s but the network image on top right side seems not connected with question mark on it.

I have recently changed my Operating System user password, and I also changed my KWallet password.
