How is it possible that I'm able to use plasma when I only installed lubuntu?
cn flag

I just installed lubuntu dual boot with windows 10, it runs smoothly on my low end laptop. I'm confused though, when I turn on the computer, I get 2 choices Ubuntu (not lubuntu) or windows. And when I choose Ubuntu, and the login screen is displayed I get to choose either lubuntu or plasma. What's confusing me is that I just realized that KDE plasma is a desktop environment for kubuntu. Ubuntu 20.04, Sceptre 24" monitors (2) (they have HDMI inputs), ViewSonic VG2439m-LED 24" monitors (2) (they have display port monitors), HDMI to mini DP cables (2), DP and mini DP cables (2), and Nvidia NVS 510 graphics card (mini DP outputs, worked with all 4 monitors before).

A bit of context: A few days ago, I connected the 4 above monitors to my graphics card. For about a week, it ran fine.

I use 2 monitors, and the problem occurs on both, when I maximize any window, the buttons (minimize, maximize and close) are above or outside the monitor's view, so I can't click on them

I use the bar at the top, on one of the screens, and on that screen, when maximizing any window, the buttons mentioned are under the bar

can I rescue this botched up install?
cn flag

I apt remove'd shim-signed, and saw the most horrifying "I agree" screen ever. Something like 'I know what I'm doing, yes'. Now I am in a bad limbo, with 20.10 installed (not sure how it happened exactly, b/c I wanted to stay with LTS, my hunch is I ran boot-repair because there was a lubuntu dependency, and I ignored that, with two packages "held back." Being a newbie, I of course regret my actions,  ...

How can I start image viewer feh to start in fullscreen, zoom pictures to 100%, and always show them from the top left corner, not vertical centered?
cc flag

I would like to watch images, which are quite tall, image height are much larger, then screen height. I can easily scroll down the image in feh by Alt+Down_arrow. To achieve this I start feh with options:

feh --zoom 100 -F *.jpg

The problem is, that all images is centered on the screen, and I have to scroll the up, and then down, instead of scrolling them only downwards, to see the parts which don't f ...

After boot go automatically to graphical login screen
ng flag

I installed Ubuntu 18.04.6 desktop and then lubuntu-desktop. Now the system boots to non-graphical login screen. The user of the laptop will have to press ctrl+alt+F7 to go to graphical login screen.

Is there some configuration file where I can set it to go automatically to graphical login screen?

Let me start by saying that I'm very new to Ubuntu so I feel like I may have messed something up on my end but I installed both LightDm and Xubuntu and XRdp. I am following these directions:

  1. Download the latest linux tar.gz file from https://github.com/stripe/stripe-cli/releases/latest
  2. Unzip the file: tar -xvf stripe_X.X.X_linux_x86_64.tar.gz
  3. Move ./stripe to your execution path.

I downloaded the file in #1. I then unzipped it by right clicking on it and choosing unzip into a dir called stripe. This created a file called stripe in my stripe directory. ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
