I have created SD card with Ubuntu Desktop 21.10 using Pi Imager. It boots fine but when I interact with desktop environment, e.g. re-arrange the icons, the desktop environment freezes. How to disable Middle Mouse Paste on Ubuntu automatically on startup
us flag

I'm trying to make a script run on startup, so that I don't have to do it manually every time, with a terminal window being open constantly.

This is the script: anti-midmouse-paste.sh

#!/bin/bash

do
    echo -n | xsel -n -i
    sleep 0.5

It is a script I found online that clears the selected copied text. It works flawlessly when I run it regularly with: sh anti-midmouse-paste.sh ...

Ubuntu is acting weird since Stacer operation

I have Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS and everything was fine until I used Stacer's "System Cleaner" function. I selected "All" that means package caches, crash reports, application logs, application caches and trash. Then I hit the "cleanup" button (which I assume means delete).

Since then the system has been doing strange things. For example, on startup, it goes to BusyBox and I have to fsck -yf /dev/sda2 practic ...

Hello AskUbuntu community,

I have got a Lenovo T15 Gen 2 with Ubuntu 20.04 installed alongside Windows 10.

I am having troubles with the Device Firmware update. If I click on Install in the Ubuntu Software panel, then it starts downloading but after finishing it gives the same update as before.

This is a pic of the update being installed

Where has en_SE gone in 21.10?
ma flag

I had a Kubuntu system (actually many) set up with en_SE.UTF-8 because it's the only locale that has: english, metric, YYYY/MM/DD and a few other non-stupid things. It was working great.

Then this morning I upgraded to 21.10 and this locale is gone. I used locale-gen and looked in some config files and there's no trace of it anywhere. So has it been renamed or do I need to generate it somehow ?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
