Network interface renamed? How to revert?

I am on ubuntu 20.04 One of my network interface was repeatly switching up and down.

r8169: enp4s0: link down r8169: enp4s0: link up

So I installed r8168..

Now I am confronted with: r8168 0000:04:00.0 enp4s0: renamed from eth0

Where does this happen?

And suddenly my iptables start complaining: Unknown InputIN=enp3s0

I don't understand....

BTW. switching driver didn't help. inteface is still switching...  ...

As part of my workflow I'm using Ubuntu server 20.04.3.

So I prepare the image for the VM and deploy it using Ansible.

Since it is env with no access to the internet all packages I'm installing have been previously downloaded .deb. by execution simple shell command:

dpkg -i deb_1.deb  deb_2.deb deb_3.deb deb_4.deb 
dpkg -i deb_5.deb  deb_6.deb deb_7.deb deb_8.deb

What is the exact file location due to which my Brother printer is causing consistent issues?

I brought a Brother printer one year ago and I am consistently facing an issue. The issue is that the printer works fine sometimes and does not print sometimes. But note that the test page printing always works.

The problem is only with the pages I want to print other than the test page.

In the deepin terminal the drop-down menu appears when I click with the right mouse button but it does not disappear when I click with the left mouse button but only by pressing the "Esc" key, why?

Not booting when inserting HDD in another Dell Latitude E6320 laptop

I have a SATA HDD, with Ubuntu 18.04 installed. My former laptop got broken, and I successfully inserted my HDD in a Lenovo laptop.

I've seen a few topics on this before on AskUbuntu and bits and pieces from other forums but no answer actually solved my query. I'm trying to kill a service on my Ubuntu machine via SSH (Terminal), here's the things that I've tried:

  • used systemctl kill [servicename]
  • used htop to kill the processes
