Cron Job created by script to run another script on reboot - not working

I'm trying to have a script create a cron job that executes another script on reboot. For reasons I am yet to understand, I cannot get this to work.

For the sake of simplicity, this is the snippet I cannot get working.

Script that creates cron job:

How to solve battery power only updated on boot

I use Lenovo Yoga and installed Ubuntu. So I find that my laptop battery isn't accurate. I have used it for some times and it show 95%. But when i reboot it, it shows 60%. I put it on charge and it still show 60%, but if I reboot it again it shows 80%. So the battery level only updated on reboot.

How to disable dynamic workspaces and switch to fixed number via the shell?

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences num-workspaces 9

But I can't find the key to change it from Dynamic workspaces to Fixed number of workspaces.

Restarting loop Ubuntu 20.04.06 after update

On my laptop, there is an issue with Ubuntu restarting the loop after the update, in recovery mode, it's working. I tried many methods like reinstalling drivers, reconfiguring gdm3, select Noveau driver but still on loop restart.

Bcdboot equivalent for Linux (Lubuntu and Ubuntu)

All my searches have turned up a bunch of boot loaders, grub, grub2, etc. I have read about the boot repair iso. However I like a manual way of doing it.

For example I can easily in Windows:

bcdboot c:\windows /s e: /f UEFI  # changing volume letters as needed

And booting is fixed.

There has to be a simple as this way to take a blank efi Ubuntu or Lubuntu partition and put the boot code on it.  ...

New to this forum - I am having a problem after installing the newest kernel on my Kubuntu Jammy LTS system. 6.4.8

Virtual box installs fine! Guest os's will not run. Kernel driver issue? something in the log about gcc-13 missing. Checked it, it's there 'installed'

Whilst I was working today, my external monitor suddenly indicated "no signal"

I have tried all these

None of them have worked.
