How to get around error running snap app because it can't access $HOME/.inputrc

I understand why the error is happening. I understand snap is strict about this. However, I would expect there would be some way to manually tell snap that it's ok to access a particular file, or add a file to it's environment, or something like that to get around the error.

I'm working with the spark-client snap app. It's been working fine. I just added a .inputrc file to my home dir, and now it ...

I'm trying to upgrade from 18.04.6 LTS to next LTS (20.04?). To do that, I first try to update everything about my current release (sudo do-release-upgrade seems to require that), but the sudo apt upgrade fails with a bunch of "401 Unauthorized [IP: blah.blah]" errors. Yea, I know I should have upgraded a long time ago... Any clue how to fix this?

How can I resolve unreadable text within Dolphin in Ubuntu?
al flag

I'm trying out Dolphin within Ubuntu 22.04, but I'm finding that half of the rows within the details view are essentially unreadable because they have black text atop a black background. Is there any way to resolve this? I prefer using a dark theme, so I'd like to make all rows black and change the text color to white. However, any solution that makes the text more readable would be appreciated.

How can I change my 'Modified — Time' column within GNOME Files in Ubuntu to show files in YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format?

GNOME Files within Ubuntu 22.04 displays file modification times in 3 different formats (see image below). I would love to get all of these entries (or at least the day/month/year entries) to use YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format (e.g. 2022-10-11 18:37 instead of 22 Oct 2022 18:37). Is this possible, or would I need to switch to a different file manager?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
