I want to find an alternative (regularly, Remmina refuse to save my new connections or new passwords so I have to completely remove and reinstall it). How to upgrade from 20.10 to 21.10
dj flag

I am running Ubuntu 20.10 on a machine which apparently would suffer audio issues with the 21.04 kernel. Now that 21.10 has been released, I'd like to upgrade directly from 20.10 to 21.10, but update-manager is offering to upgrade only to 21.04. I've tried following general instructions about updating to 20.10 as well as the generic upgrade instructions, both to no avail.

So I used the regular raspberry-pi-imager tool for windows and flashed the "Ubuntu Desktop 21.10 (RPi 4/400)" on my brand new raspberry pi 4 8GB ram model.

During the boot, the regular RGB spectrum is shown and then I'm presented with the loading screen with the ubuntu logo in the middle of the screen and the spinner below that and the "ubuntu" text below the spinner.

I lasted a year to upgrade ubuntu from 18.04 LTS to 20.04.3 LTS, this because upgrading there was a loss of functionality. In fact, before I had photos on the desktop made with the thumbnails or icons stretched of the .jpg images, or more of the .pdf images. Now this is not more possible! How to solve it?

I have an SSD and an HDD together and I have disabled bitlock.

(index then) Search within 'Lyrics' tag of ID3 in MP3s?

I recently found MediaHuman's Lyrics Finder which searches and appends lyrics to the Lyrics tag in an MP3's ID3. It's great. However, the point of me doing this was so that I could then (index and) search those tags, for those times when you have a few scraps of lyrics in your head and want to play the song.

Does this feature exist anywhere? Rhythmbox doesn't seem to touch the Lyrics tag at all, as ...

If not, how do i fix this so i can freely navigate through the windows in the activities overview like i used to do before the distro upgrade?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
