Wired netwok / netplan is missing

I am using Ubuntu 22.04 in my VM. Until today, I was able to access the internet on my Ubuntu machine, but all of a sudden I see there is no wired network option available in settings. And also there is no Netplan option available in /etc.

Please, someone, guide me on how to get back the wired network option in my Ubuntu VM. I have checked the setting in my VM for the network, and it is all fine.

I have recently dual booted and wanted to mount my windows drive on Linux. But when I try to do it, it says "Unable to mount". While windows system shows the partition as NTFS, Linux shows them as Windows basic data type. How can I mount it?

Why does the Size increase but not Free space in cfdisk?

I'm running ubuntu in a VM on Unraid. I have increased the VM's capacity with:

qemu-img resize path/to/raw/img/vdisk.img +100G

Slower boot time on newer laptop

My boot time on my old laptop (asus k501uw) is 19s, but on the new laptop (hp pavilion) is 29s. It is not slow, but I wonder if it is possible to improve it. Thanks

After a little bit of research, I managed to get machine #1 to share two drives over my local net, apparently using samba. All good so far. Machine #1 is running Ubuntu 23.04.

Machine #2 is running Cinnamon Mint, and can see those shares. When I try and mount them on machine #2 however, I get a 'Permission Denied' error.

Sometimes I don't immediately know the full package version details, but I do know which major.minor version I'm after-
For example, say I have package foo-package with several versions of debs available in my repository, and I want to get 1.4.1~build1 while 1.5.1~build3 is also available

If I knew the complete version, I could install it as
