Firefox sound sometimes playing static noise 20.04

The thing is sometimes when I'm watching videos on youtube or wherever firefox has a delay in audio followed by static noise.This applies to firefox only, if I play a movie or something it works properly. Rebooting the system fixes the problem but still it gets annoying. I have some random issues related to booting and shutting down Ubuntu 18.04.

  • Shut down freezes

  • Shut down takes up to 30 minutes

  • Booting works but freezes after password entering Booting freezes at the pure purple screen

  • Booting works but drive is in read only mode

How to install non gui version of ubuntu 21

I have downloaded ubuntu 21 server version instead of desktop version iso file, hoping I can install without GUI.

So, I tried testing it on virtualbox, installed "Minimal features" selected.

But still I got the GUI version installed.

I tried uninstalling the gui with below command , but didn't help.

sudo apt purge ubuntu-desktop
sudo apt remove ubuntu-desktop

Shared Object Files not creating - Boost, Python, Ubuntu 18.04

System : Ubuntu 18.04. Python 3.8 is my global install, but I have multiple local installs of various versions of Python from 2.7, 3.4, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8 and 3.9.

I have a project I am using with a boost dependency. When I try to import it it says

ImportError: libboost_python36.so.1.67.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

To confirm it doesn't exist I did

When I connect my camera to my Xubuntu 18.04 computer, it's mounted with write permissions, which isn't exactly desirable. How can I make it so that it, and any other camera, will be mounted read-only?

After upgrading to 21.04 my notebook freezes in login screen. If I start without gdm, the message I see in console is "Topaz is not supported in kfd" It works fine with 'nomodeset' in grub. My graphics card is: Topaz XT [Radeon R7 M260/M265 / M340/M360 / M440/M445 / 530/535 / 620/625 Mobile]

The following command is from https://www.tecmint.com/xargs-command-examples/ the example #9. It is to delete files not matching *gz from current directory.

$ find . -type f -not -name '*gz' -print0 | xargs -0 -I {} rm -v {}

What are the purpose of -print0 arg of find command and -0 and -I {} args of xargs command? Why are they needed? Thanks!
