5G Wifi Network not working when connecting my monitor via HDM
me flag

I am using a Dell laptop with Ubuntu 20.04 on it. My wireless router has both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks.

When I connect to the 2.4Ghz network, while also using an external monitor via a HDMI cable, everything works great.

When I connect to the 5Ghz network while also using an external monitor via a HDMI cable, the speed slows down dramatically or the connection just drops and I can't find the network ...

Tutorial on updating Ubuntu with developer versions newer than the official releases?
gn flag

In this post I learned where Network Manager is developed. I posted an issue there, and was told to not post issues that are not tested on the "latest version." Apparently Ubuntu 21.04 with all updates is not the latest version.

Can anyone point me to a basic tutorial on how to update specific parts of Ubuntu to developer versions newer than the official distribution releases and updates?

How to set keyboard layout when using sway?
ua flag

I am currently running sway 1.4 on Ubuntu 20.4. I would like to permanently switch from us X11 Layout to cz layout coder variant.

I found some posts like this one, where people describe how to do this on other distros. But when I tried some of the solutions they did not work for me. I think this might be distro-specific.

I also read [this manpage][2] and ran

I need to control one PC (Ubuntu OS) with long distance, so now I am using the AnyDesk app but for controlling the PC needs to confirm the new request.

So I have tried the Remmina by this post instruction :

How do I remotely control another Ubuntu desktop from Ubuntu?

But as the target PC'IP change (dynamic IP), it is hard for me to get the target PC IP and add it on the Remmina app.

So I asked here ...

I removed VirtualBox from Ubuntu 20.04.2 but I had forgot to remove the VirtualBox extensions & guest additions before removing the VirtualBox packages. I have deleted the virtual machine and also removed the virtualbox folders inside .cache and .config directories. Did I left any residue of Virtualbox in my system?

Higher Refresh Rate not working - Ubuntu 20.04

I've recently installed Ubuntu 20.04 and tried to configure a higher refresh rate than 60Hz.

Everything worked fine, the higher refresh rate was detected, and I was able to configure it. However, only the mouse is at 165Hz. The rest seems to be stuck at 60Hz. I attempted to fix this using CompizConfig Settings Manager, but that did not help.

I can confirm that this is not a hardware issue as Fedora3 ...

Ubuntu freezes and does not start anymore
es flag

Since one week I've got a problem with my Ubuntu. Basically, sometimes (but more and more often), I get a grub-like menu in the beginning that does not move, and my only choice is to reboot (starting the loop again most of the times).

Also, recente, my Ubuntu quite often just unexpectedly freezes. Any ideas on what to do to solve this?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
